Literately…..

So, it has been LITERATELY been over a year since I last updated this.  It has been a very busy year!  So much has changed and so have my thoughts on so many things.  This will be short and sweet since I’m still fleshing this stuff off.

My goal for this page is to share my knowledge and experience with depression and like.  I am currently a wife, mother, a dreamer, and a hopeful writer and I also have depression.  It’s a daily struggle to get up and put a smile on my face and function.

So I think my game plan for this blog will be about depression, writing, functioning with life and things. It should be a great start of things. Hopefully this will help me and help others. Other than that, I think I will leave it at that.

I’ll catch y’all later!

Quick update

Hello friends! I’m just letting you all know that I have updated the look of the blog! As if you guys haven’t realized! So feedback is requested for the new look. It’s still a work in progress but I will make a formal announcement about all the new stuff. For the time being, just tell me if you like the new look; inform me if there is any problems with any. Okay, back to work! Enjoy!

My New Year Resolutions!

2013 has been one hell of a year and my only hope for myself and for my family and friends, is it will be one of the best years to come! I’m hoping for bigger and better things but to do that, I have to get my butt in gear (and in the chair). So here is my goal statement for this year. Let’s see if I can do it!
One of the biggest things I want to achieve is getting into the habit of writing everyday a minimal of 2000 words. These do not have to be for a current project but it has to be words that are typed (or hand written). This is just to build the habit of writing daily. It takes 30 days to build a habit, why not make it a good habit?
My current goals for my current project ‘Memory’ are as follows: I have set up a tentative deadline for when I want the drafts to be done. The overall word count goal is 50,000 words. It’s on the smaller size but I think that is an attainable goal. You never know, maybe I’ll surpass it! Here is the breakdown of the goal deadlines: the first draft I want it to be done by March 31 2014. Then I will edit and rewrite for the second draft; the goal for that is to be done by June 30th 2014. My goal is to have my third draft completed by October 2014. I will have a few beta readers read it and give feedback for it (applications are open!). During the time of October, I will be deep in researching for agents and/or publishers to send my manuscript to and finalize who I’m sending it to! Hopefully, I will have a finished manuscript by the end of the month and will have it sent out before November rolls around! I am going to have it sent by this time next year!
Also, I will try my hand at NaNoWriMo this year but I will work out the details out when it gets closer. I will have to come up with an idea and have it all plotted out by before November rolls around. Trust me, I’ll keep you guys posted on that.
Also, as any good writer knows, reading is an important part of writing. My goal is to be able to finish and read one novel a month. Working full time and my aggressive deadline schedule with my project, I don’t know how much reading I will be able to get done but my goal is to get a book read a month.
Another small little goal is to get one short story written a month. It’s a small goal and kinda on the vague side but I really think that if I can write one short story a month it will be good. They don’t have to be the next best thing but just to get in the habit of writing anything and work on forming plots will be great for me to do! Maybe I will even share and maybe send them off to get published! Once more, I will keep you guys updated on how that goes!
On top of all of this, I really want to go to back to school. I just had graduated in May with a diploma in nursing but I feel that writing is my true passion and something that I have to use and enjoy. I have a few schools in mind and already have the gears in motion for that route. So the overall goal for my schooling is to get a school picked out and start attending by the end of the year.
Now time for my blog goals. I have deeply enjoyed working with this blog. It is a great outlet for me to great some writing out there with the world. So I have decided to focus a lot more on my blog. The first thing I want to do is to have at least one blog post a week but hopefully two a week. The topics will vary from updates about me and my writing but also about how-to’s about writing and other things I know about. (I am also thinking of helping my husband with his tech business with blogging and content building.) Also, I need to work of building readership and increase my page view count. If I can turn my blog into a resource for people – beginning authors– that would be a dream come true. I am also going to refresh how my blog looks like and refresh my widgets that seem to clutter my blog. So stay tuned for the changes. I hopefully will have the blog all looking pretty by the end of January but I’m thinking sooner.
One more little thing I want to work on this year is on my freelancing opportunities. I signed up for Elance in December but I haven’t finished my profile completely and I haven’t gotten all the samples I have looking all delicious. So I am going to work on making my profile look amazing and start trying to get work through there!
Okay, so I have shared my new resolutions with you, what about yours? Please share bellow. I would love to hear from you! Until next time, keep your head up, it gets better. J

Goals Goals Goals

This will be one of a few posts I put up today. So you have been warned.
Its the last day of 2013. So there will be a lot announcements about people wanting to better themselves and that this year will be the year for people to improve themselves or do what they always wanted or make other self-oriented goals. I will admit, I will be on that bandwagon but not for the same reasons as other people.
I am a strong believer in writing things down. It creates a connection and – indirectly – puts it in stone. And when I say it, I mean anything you write down. Your brain remembers things better when more than just one process is involved.  When you write down your goals, you remember what words you wrote but you also remember the actual action of writing down those words down. Also, another benefit of writing your goal down is it makes it more real. It makes it more concrete. The left side of your brain will love this. It is now given structure and a deadline. The right brain may not be completely happy but it now has something to create. For me, I tent to write my goals down and then post them (to a blog or to a social media site).  It’s not for the attention but it to remind myself that once I post it, others will have seen it and in the back of my mind that makes me have to follow through with it.  Even though no one may have read it, it is out to the world and makes me feel that I achieve what I wrote.  Not everyone does this, but for me, it helps.
Keep in mind that when you go to write down your goal, there are a few things that you need to remember.  First off, make sure your goals are reasonable.  Make sure that the goal you want to achieve is something that is important to you.  Just as important, be specific.  Do not just put ‘run a mile’.  It’s too broad and almost sets you up for failure.  On top of that, know your limitations.  Do not put down “go skydiving” when you are scared of looking out a second story window. Be logical. If sometime in the future you want to skydive but you really can’t bring yourself to even look out a second story window maybe that will be your goal.  Maybe you will be able to look that window and maybe you will look out the third story window as well.  That brings me to my next point, you have to set (a realistic) deadline.  This will be when you want to get this done.  Again, be reasonable and understand that Rome wasn’t built in a day.
I could go on and on about goal writing but I will leave you with these little guidelines.

So, now that I have shared these few steps with you, I will post my year goals using the advice I just shared with you. Enjoy and stay tuned!  🙂

I took the leap…

For the few people that know me pretty well, when it comes to my writing, I tend to be very shy about what I am writing, the topic I am writing about, and anything that deals with my writing. So I decided to take the leap and i posted the first chapter on my current writing project (titled Memory). This is a huge thing, so I will post the link here and I hope you go and read it. 🙂

Still here under all the madness!

Okay, so I want to start off with my apologies about the lack of up keep around here. I am terribly sorry.  Things have been really rough with everything going on.  My stupid actions cause more problems that I’m worth but at the end of the day, I’m still here.

I have been working on some new ideas and still working on my past projects.  So there should be a lot of different stuff coming from me.  It’s going to take some time for me to get the blog back up to 100% awesomeness.  It’s currently a goal of mine and I am going to find a way one way or another to get this done.  Just sit tight!

Sadly, I didn’t hit the goal of the NaNoWriMo but it did teach me about stuff and getting words on the page.  I was doing so well…  But I will still work on it.  My goal is to have that project done by the new year and then work on my other project before November.  So hopefully, by the end of 2014 I will have two complete projects to send away to publishers…  We will see.

So, I’ll keep this short.  I am going to go back and get some writing done.  Enjoy!  I’ll update soon.

Thankful part two….

Okay, I know I have fallen behind on these! Yikes! NaNoWriMo has taken over my life. lol So here are they are!

Day 7 : I’m thankful for books. I don’t think without them, I would be where I am at or know what I know.
Day 8 : I am thankful to have a job. I know a lot of people struggle to get a job. I may struggle with a lot of things but I do not have to worry about having a job.
Day 9 : I am thankful for the people I work with, you make the day way better than you realize. I know I tend to way too difficult to work with (I hope not! lol) but thank you for laughing at my stupid jokes. It makes me feel better to know that I can get you guys to laugh.
Day 10 : I am thankful for laughter. Without I think life would be wicked dull… So remember to get your daily laugh on! And for all the people that make me laugh, thank you!
Day 11 : I am thankful for all of our Vets. To the one past and present. To all my father, uncles, great aunts and uncles, cousins, friends and everyone. I specially thank the ones that didn’t make it back and gave their all for us to have things to be thankful for.
Day 12 : I am thankful that I was able to make my brother to laugh so hard that he was in tears. It was quite nice and a great bounding time.  And I will try to remember cookie dough! Thanks Matt!

So that is about it I think.  See you tomorrow I hope.

So I’m thankful for…

So I decided to jump on this days of being thankful band wagon. And yes I stole this from facebook!  But I am going to let everyone else know about this.  And I think it’s nice to say thanks.  I’m five days late (:O) but let me catch up really quick!
Day 1 : I am grateful for my past because I wouldn’t be who I am without it!
Day 2 : I am grateful for being to think on my own
Day 3 : I am thankful for my creative eyes and soul … I don’t know where I wold be without that.
Day 4 : I am thankful for having Deadeye McPickles as my brother. He can be an ass but he is the most level headed dude I know. Thanks for keeping me grounded!
Day 5 : I am thankful for my husband, Ethan Wenburg. Even through you can drive me bat shit crazy, I wouldn’t want anyone else to drive me that crazy! And thanks for dealing with my craziness!
Watch out, there will be 26 more days of this…  So each day there will be a little blurb about what I’m thankful for!  So keep an eye out!

And keep an eye out on my NaNoWriMo meters!  It’s going pretty well so far!  Till next time!

UPDATE HERE!

Writing is magic, as much the water of life as any other creative art. The water is free. So drink. Drink and be filled up . – Stephen King

Okay, so it have been a few days since I last posted about, well, pretty much everything!  So without further blabbing here we go!
First, let’s talk about my blog itself…  have you checked this thing out?  Well, I hope you are right now.  Do you like the new design?  Does it read easy or hard to see it?  I need some feedback on it, PLEASE!  Also, I have some good news!  Just as I am writing this, my blog has hit 800 page views!   That is wonderful!
Also, I have been toying with the idea of using Ad Sense from Google for some extra income, what do you think?  It won’t be much, but it would a little extra money rolling in until I hit it big with my amazing novels! (Okay, so maybe I am dreaming, but go big or go home, right?)  So don’t panic if things change again!
So on the writing front…  THINGS HAVE BEEN AMAZING!  Yesterday, I got over 4,000 words written.  Two whole chapters done.  It is going well.  I have hit the halfway point with my word count..  Plot wise, I am about 3/4 of the way there/  So yeah.  I am aiming to get the first draft done before Halloween so I will have some extra time to work on my plot for NaNoWriMo.

Speaking of NaNoWriMo, I am getting wicked excited and stuff, but I am so drawing blanks on titles.  Like I can never think of a tittle for any of my writings.  So I just call everything either a work in progress or ‘untitled project’.  I need to work on some titles…  But I remember that someone said that titles often come later during the writing.  Oh well, it’s the little things that drive me crazy!

Side note, I am starting on Wednesdays to share some of my old work.  I would love it if you guys would read it and tell me what you think!

Well, until next time,  have a great time out on the real world.  I’ll be hiding in my own bubble! I really would love some more feed back, though!

My ideas usually come not at my desk writing but in the midst of living.

Short and sweet and scared

So I haven’t updated this for over two weeks.  It is really bad and I am sorry.  But I got a sudden fear for doing anything with any of my writing.  It sounds kinda odd but I would sit at the computer and have my fingers on the keyboard but all I got was a racing heart.  My mind was telling me that I should be anywhere but at the computer.  It was tough but I finally broke through it.  It took time but I feel like I am in a better place now.  I have gotten more writing done.  I have to start plotting for myNaNoWriMo project, soon.  So the up coming months I am going to be a little busy.  I will still be adding some of my older works here and there.  I promise that they shouldn’t be too long.  Anyway, I’m in a writing frenzy in my head, so I am off to continue to write.  Enjoy!
